Eleven Facts About Me:

-I’m in my second year at Miami University… in Ohio. For the record, we were there first.

-I speak three languages: English, French and Arabic. But Egyptian Arabic is pretty different from Moroccan Arabic so this should be exciting 🙂

-I grew up in Morocco for 12 years. I was in Oujda for 4 of them and Casablanca for 8. Yep, that’s the city where the movie took place, and yes, I’ve been to Rick’s cafe– though it was built after the movie. They have excellent burgers.

-I’ve been to 18 countries. 19 if you count me sticking my arm into Algeria through a chain-link fence in Morocco. I would have scaled the fence and put all of me in Algeria, but the border official with the machine gun didn’t look as though he’d find that very amusing. I think it should count though– what’s a couple of inches between friends?

-I love to read.

-I’m studying journalism and anthropology. And no, I don’t really know what I’m going to be doing with that.

-I most certainly believe God exists and I live my life to glorify him. I’ve read and memorized parts of the Qur’an, and I think it’s a pretty great book. I’m also a firm believer in and a follower of the teachings of Jesus. I’m not really big on religion though. Curious? Ask me 🙂

-My parents now live in Minnesota. Which means I now know what it’s like to have your eyes tear up from the cold air and then freeze your eye-lashes together so you’re stuck in a half blink. It also means I will never root for the Packers.

-I prefer not to wear shoes if it can be helped.

-I am a firm believer in being a tourist wherever you go. Not in the I’m-going-to-wear-a-fanny-pack-and-talk-really-loudly-in-about-my-money-in-the-middle-of-a-market sense, but in the sense that everywhere, including Waukesha, WI, is an exciting place to be explored.

-I talk and walk in my sleep. A lot. My roommates could keep their own blogs about the weird stuff I do when under the influence of slumber.
